The annual IndabaX Burundi is our flagship gathering, bringing together students, researchers, educators, engineers, professionals and AI enthusiasts for learning, research exchange and community connection.
The annual gathering also provides a platform for emerging researchers and practitioners to present their work and for participants to connect with the wider Deep Learning Indaba community.

We seek to broaden meaningful participation across gender, geography, language, disability and socioeconomic circumstances.
IndabaX Burundi targets at least 35% female participation in its major events. We use Kirundi, French and English according to audience and purpose, and seek partnerships and sponsorship that can reduce participation costs and other barriers to access.
We integrate responsible AI considerations into our learning, research and community activities.
Where relevant, activities encourage consideration of ethics, privacy, fairness, bias, safety, sustainability, responsible data use and the wider effects of AI on people and society.
IndabaX Burundi activities follow the Deep Learning Indaba Code of Conduct.
We are committed to maintaining respectful, inclusive and safe spaces for participants, speakers, volunteers, organizers and partners.
